On tip toe<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Earlier this spring, I started a new painting with dark looming green storm clouds. At the end of May, I posted an early sneak peek on my blog, which you can find here<\/a>. \u00a0The painting took a bit of a back seat over the summer and then I went away on my Ox-Bow residency. I don’t like leaving paintings unfinished, at least ones that I think are worth finishing, and this is probably the longest that I’ve left a painting before returning to it. I’m happy to say it is finally done! \u00a0At 24″ x 36″ in size, this is the largest and most ambitious of the Of Myth and Men<\/a> series.\u00a0I’m still thinking of a suitable title, but in the meantime, here are some teasers – details without revealing the whole painting just yet.<\/p>\n

And one more hint, the painting is based on\u00a0Jean-Honor\u00e9 Fragonard’s famous Rococo painting\u00a0Les Hasards Heureux de l’Escarpolette<\/em>, which translates to\u00a0The Happy Accidents of the Swing<\/em>. \u00a0The painting is more commonly referred to simply as The Swing<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n
