Hello from Banff!<\/p>\n

I arrived here earlier this week, and the program I am in began on Wednesday.\u00a0 I’m part of a thematic residency, called “What’s Love Got To Do With It?” with 9 other artists from around the world who all work with themes of love in their artwork.\u00a0 We’ve just started getting settled into our studios and getting to know the campus.\u00a0 I’ve been through Banff before while driving to Calgary from Vancouver, but never actually been in Banff long enough to appreciate the landscape.\u00a0 And what a landscape it is!<\/p>\n

It is very awe inspiring, and I feel so grateful to be a part of this residency.\u00a0 I feel like it’s going to be a wonderful experience and everyone here is so supportive of creativity and art, it’s not like anything I’ve seen before from other art “institutions”.\u00a0 The facilities are amazing too, and I can’t wait to show you all the work that I’m doing here.\u00a0 There will still be paintings, but I’m also going to be experimenting with screen printing and painting on wood shapes…intrigued yet?<\/p>\n

In the meantime, here’s the view that I wake up to every morning from my room on the 6th floor of the residence hall.\u00a0 It’s more like a hotel room than a residence hall.\u00a0 Pretty spectacular!<\/p>\n
