This has been a long time coming! My print, Love Is Touching Souls, is being released as a limited edition digital c-print in partnership with Wil Aballe Art Projects (WAAP). The print launch is next Saturday, August 17th, and if you are in Vancouver, please drop by the WAAP gallery between 2 – 4 PM.
It was really exciting to see the development of this work, as it only existed as a digital file sitting on my computer for the longest time. When I first saw the test print, it was kind of surreal to see it as a tangible object in my hands after seeing it only on my monitor in a much smaller scale. I’m really happy to be releasing this image as a limited edition print with WAAP, which has just been named by Blouin ARTINFO Canada as one of eleven top emerging Canadian commercial galleries.
Love Is Touching Souls is a project that first started in 2011, inspired by my residency at The Banff Centre. Eventually it will be shown in Banff as a public art project, tentatively scheduled for 2015 – 2016. It’s fun to think that the tourists in the photograph are making their way back to Banff again some fifty years or so later.
