Here are a few little drawings that I’ve just finished yesterday. I was trying out an idea and doing these pencil drawings on gessoed 3″ x 4″ MDF blocks that I had brought with me. Unfortunately, I found that I wasn’t able to get the amount of detail I wanted on the surface, which was a bit too rough for my pencil.
Everything smudged easily too and I couldn’t erase any marks. I’m going to be doing these on a transparent vellum type paper instead, which I’m looking forward to as it is a material I haven’t worked with since my undergrad days.
I do rather like how these two drawings look on their own though, as there is a nice raw quality to pencil drawings on this surface, so I thought I’d post them here.
