I’ve been busy working on a project, which I’ll talk more about in the upcoming weeks. It’s something that I will be continuing on a residency in Reykjavik, Iceland this September, which I’m extremely excited about. It never crossed my mind that I would ever be going to Reykjavik, and certainly not on an artist residency, but it appears that’s exactly where I’ll be heading this September for an entire month. But more on that later. Right now, I’m working diligently in my studio in Vancouver and making short weekend trips more locally. My friend, Mary Porter, is in town and we decided to take a little break to Vancouver Island and visit Tofino & Ucluelet. While I love and appreciate all the rich architecture and art that I see on my trips when I visit big cities in other countries, especially in Europe, there’s still nothing like seeing the breathtaking and awe inspiring natural landscapes of British Columbia. It truly is experiencing the sublime.
Here are a few photos from this past weekend… More art related blog posts will be coming up soon.
